BCS Is Jumbled
Everyone should watch tonight at 7:00 central time to see the unveiling of the new BCS standings. With the 2, 4, 5 and 7 ranked teams going down this weekend, it should be a whole new landscape going into the second to last regular season weekend of the college football season. I am really surprised with the way that the Arkansas Razorbacks have played and I would not be surprised if they can make some noise this upcoming weekend against the tough LSU Tigers. Another huge game is the Iron Bowl, Auburn against Alabama. Alabama almost ruined Auburn's season last year but the Cam Newton-led Tigers came out victorious in the end. Auburn will look to ruin Alabama's title chances with a victory this year and further bolster their resume to get into a good bowl game. Undefeated Houston also has a tall task when they travel to Tulsa to take on the Golden Hurricane, who are undefeated in conference play, and 8-3 overall. G.J. Kinne, the quarterback of the Golden Hurricane, is clearly not as good as Houston quarterback Case Keenum, but he is putting together a pretty good season quietly down in the Oklahoma dry lands. He has thrown for 2,683 yards and 24 touchdown passes and his favorite receiver is definitely Willie Carter who has 57 receptions for 826 yards and 6 touchdowns. It might be a trap game for the Cougars who are trying to reach their first BCS bowl game ever. Another team that has a chance to take advantage of all the upsets are the Stanford Cardinal. They take on Notre Dame, and with a victory they could really move up in the rankings. There are also a few huge in-state rivalry games including, Georgia-Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State-Oklahoma, Texas-Texas A&M, and Oregon-Oregon State. With all of these games and a few other sleeper picks, this Thanksgiving weekend is sure looking like it could be a really entertaining one for college football.
