Much To Be Thankful For This Thanksgiving

There is much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day for Minnesota sports fans.  The Timberwolves are beginning to mend slowly but surely.  The Vikings are still fighting for a spot in the playoffs ten games into the season.  The Gopher basketball team lost today to Duke, but every game they seem to become more and more competitive.  The Gopher football team will even be bowling this year.  One of the only downers is that the Minnesota Wild could not compete due to the lockout.  I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving with their fair share of turkey and pumpkin pie, and of course football.  The football games were marginal today, and the Vikings were helped out by a Houston Texans overtime win over the Detroit Lions, but for the most part the games were boring.  There was one thing still on my mind.

Israel was on my mind.  The ceasefire between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas had just went into effect yesterday and I was still thinking about the situation and the public reaction to Operation Pillar of Defense.  Aside from the fact that my sister is leaving for Israel on Tuesday and I am very worried for her, Israel has also always been near and dear to me.  Every country in the world has a right to defend itself, nobody will dispute that.  Israel has been fired on persistently from Gaza since Operation Cast Lead in 2008 and pleaded to the United Nations for help to stop this ongoing onslaught.  They were of absolutely no help and so Israel had to bring it on themselves to get rid of these awful terrorists.  They are the ones constantly starting these fights and it is so easy to understand if people actually research the facts or have even been to Israel during any time of "peace".  There never really is peace because of Hamas and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

This is a sports blog and I probably shouldn't be bringing up politics, but I just thought that this was a very important matter that everyone should become more educated on.
