Stanford Athletics

Stanford Athletics is probably the most underrated athletic program in the country.  They have won 16 straight Director's Cups and have had at least one sport win a Division I championship for 34 consecutive years.  This truly is an amazing story and seems to be overlooked by everyone outside of the Bay area.  Located between Palo Alto and Menlo Park, Stanford is a very small school compared to the other Pac-12 universities and also has by far the largest graduation rate of their athletes.  They graduate 89% of their football players which is unheard of in this day in age.  Being known for incredible academics makes this an even more incredible feat.

People on The Farm are hyping up the football team like has never been seen before this year.  They want to make it 35 straight years with a national title, and they want it to come in their largest sport.  New coach David Shaw believes he has the keys to do this and with Andrew Luck at the helm, this is believable.  With his high powered offensive attack and his stingy defense, Shaw could very well have a national championship team in the making.  With both the 49ers and the Raiders expected to have down years, Bay area football fans are becoming more attracted to Stanford Stadium and its inhabiters.  What a story this could turn out to be.
